In January 2010 I boarded a plane to Townsville in QLD Australia to begin a six month placement at Shalom Christian College, a prep to twelve all Indigenous boarding school.
I had decided to take a Lattitude placement about six months earlier, after finding that a year into my arts degree I was bored and unmotivated. I looked at all the countries Lattitude had on offer and liked the sound of most of them. In the end I decided on Australia (Indigenous) because I felt that I could not go overseas and volunteer knowing that in my own country there was such inequality.
