Ni hao

We are absolutely LOVING it here!! The food, the people, the scenery, everything is amazing!
There is definitely a lot of laughing going on, both from us and from the students here. Already our weekends have been booked up with invitations from the students to go to different places. Last weekend we were taken down to Eshan Saturday night for dinner and Sunday morning for a bit of food shopping and lunch – the food here is so cheap it’s unbelievable!
Helping with education in China

When I first met Lily I did not know what a profound effect she would have on me. She was one of the many students who turned up to English Corner in my first week at the school to stare and giggle at the new foreign teachers.
My amazing time in China

I was an English teacher in a senior high school in Qingdao, Shandong province China.
My experience opened my eyes to the world, to different cultures and to different kinds of people. I became more confident and tolerant of other people. Since returning from China I’m excited for everything in life and all the challenges and adventures that lie ahead.
Orientation in China

So I’ve now spent my first few days in China and it sure is interesting!
I left Sydney a while ago, and flew from Sydney to Singapore, met up with more volunteers and then flew to China. On our first day we had free time, so me and a few other volunteers went to a lama temple in Beijing. It was pretty cool and filled with lots of Tibetan Buddhism stuff.
